Our story

We started in a hut with one question: how can everyday work get easier?

Genii Hut is a diverse bunch of self-acclaimed genii (ask Mr. Webster). We are entrepreneurs, technologists, marketers and investors who gather in one room, brainstorm together and build software that takes the friction out of ordinary business days.

Our stakeholders are a mix of Filipino and Japanese professionals with experience in national and global companies. Together we bring 20 years of collective experience in HR and IT. Those two disciplines meet every time a company hires, pays, trains and supports its people.

  1. The hut

    We began by building productivity software and mobile apps for iOS and Android. We also explored technology ventures in VoIP, data centre virtualisation and advertising.

  2. Payruler

    Working on payroll showed us how much time HR teams lose to it. That experience became Payruler, our flagship HRMS platform, which supports the employee journey from hiring to retiring.

  3. Two cities, one team

    We work from Makati at the AIM–Dado Banatao Incubator and from Cebu City. We serve businesses across the Philippines alongside partners in the US and Japan.

Genii Hut is a team of people who came together for one purpose: making better systems and solutions for everyone. Our backgrounds include HR management, industrial engineering, computer science, VoIP and data centre virtualisation, BPO operations, and telco branding and marketing.
